This is a steamer trunk with a flat top that was canvas covered. Made around 1880 - 1900. It is not stained - this is the true color of the pine. The canvas was removed, new leather handles put on, original hardware was cleaned of dirt and rust and sealed. The original lock is heavy solid brass and has working key. The old canvas was removed from inside trunk and the whole trunk was sanded and tung oiled.  This trunk is made out of pine with original leather banding around the ends. Fancy hardware and 4 leather strap keepers on the top. New leather straps/buckles applied with 2 new strap keepers on front. It is very sturdy and durable and will hold up another 100 years. Measurements are 32" wide, 19" deep and 12" tall and makes a great coffee table.
